A MGMS Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports Program
What is P.R.I.D.E.?
What is P.B.I.S.?
P.R.I.D.E. is the name of Mt. Gilead Middle School's PBIS program. PBIS stands for positive behavioral interventions and supports. Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture that is needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional and academic success. PBIS is a team based school-wide design for discipline. The program includes all students and all staff in all settings.
There are three main components of PBIS:
1. Teaching appropriate behavior in all settings.
2. Provide interventions when behavior expectations are not met.
3. Recognizing students when behavior expectations are met.
Our PBIS program, known as P.R.I.D.E., is an acronym to remind our school community of behavior expectations...

Making the right choice... |
On a journey to excellence... |
The MGMS P.R.I.D.E. program reinforces positive choices made by students and intervenes when students make a "less-than-positive" choice. When students do make the right choice, they maintain points in our Classroom Dojo system. Classroom Dojo provides staff and parents a platform to record behaviors and communicate on an ongoing basis. Students who maintain points in Classroom Dojo throughout a grading period will be rewarded for their positive choices.

Mt. Gilead Exempted Village Schools' motto states that students are on a "journey to excellence!" The P.R.I.D.E. program also leads to the same understanding...Expect Excellence! Regardless of where someone comes from, how they look or what they believe, all students are able to meet basic expectations that make our school a safe and positive environment for all. These expectations can be found by clicking on "Expectations" at the top of this page.
